“What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?”
Video Competition

Three middle schools will compete throughout NJ as they each create a 2 ½ minute video on what they think is so cool about manufacturing at specific manufacturers.  Efforts are guided by teachers / coaches.  Each school is provided with video equipment and instructional materials and matched with local manufacturers of their choice.  Each team has four months to create a short video profile of their partnering company in an attempt to answer the question, “What’s So Cool about Manufacturing?”  The entries are judged by an expert panel.  Winners of the state-wide competition are recognized at local award ceremonies by industry and education leaders, dignitaries, and elected officials.

So, what’s so cool about this program?  It really helps the student to closely examine the people, processes, excitement and motivation associated with a career in manufacturing.  The student walks away with a true appreciation for manufacturing and for the careers that are open to them.
